The game following FIFA 22 may have quite a few surprises in store for players. The FIFA franchise from EA Games has remained famous for featuring real football teams, players, and coaches while continually improving the gameplay and graphics with each new release. However, some of this may change in FIFA 23.

One of the most notable changes is that FIFA 23 might include cross-play options and competitions between players on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation. This will open up the game to more cross-play across different devices.

However, an even more significant change is that it seems FIFA will finally be adding female clubs to the game. While Fifa started including female national teams in FIFA 16, the effort to present female teams was lacking. Even after the tremendous success of the 2019 Women’s World Cup, female players were poorly represented in the FIFA franchise. The game only included a few international women’s football teams and no women club teams.

It finally seems as though EA will be addressing this issue and adding more women teams, including female football clubs, in FIFA 23. Although EA has not yet confirmed any of these rumors, it’s not a far stretch to think it would be possible. EA has received many open letters of complaint in the last few years for its lack of representing female players.

Aside from this, another significant change might be to the game’s actual title. Rumors suggest that the ‘FIFA’ brand name and license may not be renewed again. Reports show that FIFA and EA were negotiating a contract to see FIFA receiving more than $1.5 billion over the next decade from EA. The popular game developers may be considering whether this massive expense is worth it.

With their latest release, EA Games might be making quite a few changes to the FIFA franchise. We look forward to seeing which of the rumored changes end up in FIFA 23 when it releases at the end of September.
